Silver Jubilee

We all know that unforeseen circumstances can get in the way of an event.

This message is to inform you that this year’s Prajyoti Nite has been cancelled or postponed, due to Corona Outbreak. The safety of attendees, students, and people always comes first.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and look forward to greeting you, and your furry friends.

Prajyoti Niketan College.

About the Event

Prajyoti Niketan (The Abode of the Supreme Light), situated almost fifteen kilometers south of Thrissur in the state of Kerala, had its inception in 1995 as a government aided and affiliated college of the University of Calicut. Its foundation stone was laid in 1994 by the then Honourable Vice President of India, Sri. K. R.Narayan and the College was formally inaugurated by Sri. K. Karunakaran who was the Union Cabinet Minister at the time. Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, the then Honourable President of India, initiated the Holistic Health Care Center in 1996. The Institution has today crossed twenty-five years of committed service to the noble cause of education and research, with quality being its defining statement. The college was envisioned and founded by Rev. Dr. Harshajan Pazhayattil, whose educational insight is based entirely on the principle of Holistic Vision.

Ours is not just a College—it is a confluence of young academics, sportspersons and artists whose talents are tapped, revealed and exhibited, enabling every student to step out into the outside world with self assurance and confidence.

As a part of fulfilling our Institutional Social Responsibility, we at Prajyoti have decided to organize a mega song-and-dance extravaganza—PRAJYOTI NITE—an event which involves every member of the College community along with professional artists and troupes who have carved a distinct niche in their respective fields.

The aim is to bring together an entire rural community of people who live in and around Pudukad panchayat, who are given an opportunity to witness a host of programmes totally free of cost and provide maximum entertainment for them in the process.

The 2-Day Bonanza will be flagged off with a competition by professional Band Groups from across the country, followed by a dance competition by some of the finest rockstar dancers of South India. The prizes offered to the winners are mind-boggling – a whopping One Lakh, 50,000 and 25,000 respectively are what await the winners. Day 2 will witness a music fiesta by the one-and-only Stephen Devassy, who has set fire to the minds of millions with his singular melodies.

At Prajyoti we encourage fellowship and brotherhood among people. If you come
with an attitude of we “are here to win”, then this is not your competition.
Competition is not about “beating out others” but improving yourselves
appreciating what you have learned and acknowledging others accomplishments,
everything is icing on the cake. To propagate this family-geared environment that we have inherited, we have decided to promote young minds across the nation through a Band Competition and Dance Competitions.
